It’s a big day for video games…and mistakes!

Today is a big day for many gamers: Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and LEGO Lord of the Rings finally hit store shelves. Black Ops 2 has already been receiving fantastic reviews by other gaming sites, and LEGO Lord of the Rings will probably get high scores too.

But that’s not the real news for the day. According to the Game Informer website, both games have been having major shipping issues.

What kind of issues, you ask? Well to start, LEGO’s latest adventure has been shipping demo discs instead of the actual game. Oops! So if you’re planning on picking it up today, check your game before you leave so you can get your money back.

Now for Black Ops 2. So far this seems to have only affected one person, but when a CoD fan put in his disc to download, he ended up with Mass Effect 2!  I can understand accidentally shipping a demo disc; mistakes happen. But shipping a game that is three years old AND belongs to a completely different publisher? That’s messed up.

So, if you’re buying either of these games today, make sure you check your discs!

That’s sort of funny about the Black Ops / Mass Effect mixup, but I don’t see why ANY PC gamer would buy a disc version of the game. It’s a waste of time and effort, just download it at midnight like everyone else. I wish 360 games were available in digital format on day one, then I’d never have to buy a disc again.
