There is no denying Netflix’s knack for producing popular shows (as OITNB is basically what everyone talks about.) Netflix is now branching out with the anime TV series, Knights of Sidonia, streaming this July 4th.

The Knights of Sidonia originates from the manga comic series and the anime TV series that aired in April-June in Japan. The story revolves are the protagonist of the 12-episode summer series, Nagate Tanikaze, and his adventures set on the space ship named Sidonia.

Pop Culture Expo

Boston will be hosting this year’s Pop Culture Expo on Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-25), which highlights the joys and excitement of all things pop culture! Video games, cosplay, comic books, collectibles, celebrity guests, and more will be present at this convention. We had the pleasure of interviewing Event Organizer, Gary Sohmers, who gave us a bit more detail about what can be expected at the Expo. At Anime Boston 2014, we had the honor of meeting and attending a panel with Wendee Lee. Wendee Lee holds the record for voicing the most animated characters as an English actor. She is most notorious for her role of Faye in Cowboy Bebop, a paramount anime of our generation:

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mike McFarland at Anime Boston 2014!  McFarland is most known for his work on Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, One Piece, and his current work as Director and voice of Jean Kirstein in Attack on Titan.

A colossal Attack on Titan announcement was made this weekend at Anime Boston 2014.  FUNimation released the world premiere of the Attack on Titan English dub.  The first 3 episodes were shown on Saturday accompanied by a panel including Mike McFarland (Director, Jean) , Josh Grelle (Armin), Matthew Mercer (Levi), and Trina Nishimura (Mikasa).  An encore 5-episode marathon was then shown on Sunday.

Anime Boston 2014 recently announced Mike McFarland, director of Attack on Titan, as their guest of honor for the upcoming convention in March.  Shortly after that announcement, Anime Boston released some incredibly exciting new for the popular anime: FUNImation will be premiering the English dub of Attack on Titan at Anime Boston 2014.
