Locke & Key, IDW Publishing

Locke & Key is a wonderful story by Joe Hill (writer) and Gabriel Rodriguez (artist) that tantalized the hearts, minds, and imaginations of countless comic readers. But is the series staying as a comic? Locke & Key has gone through a number of big announcements, and in our latest article, we explain its [long and changing] journey:

Batman-TMNT

This November, a surprisingly unlikely crossover will be occurring between IDW and DC Comics. As announced at San Diego Comic Con, Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be meeting up to kick some serious shell.

To put it simply, the current IDW run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been nothing short of stellar. Many of IDW’s titles fall by the wayside with little to no recognition, but as TMNT has progressed, it has become better and better:

If you think I’ve missed anything, leave a note in the comment section and let me know what you’re eagerly anticipating. Here’s my top three, and then a short list of other books to be aware of.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Annual 2012 Cover by IDW

Back when I was in my prime age of about 8 years old, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were my jam.  I used to watch the television show, play with the action figures, and run around with a cardboard Christmas wrapping paper roll pretending it was a bo staff.  Today, about 50% of my nerdy shirts are TMNT related.  Heck, the drinking glasses in my apartment even have ninja turtle characters on them.  I recently decided to crack open a can of nostalgia by reading Teenage Mutant Ninja Annual 2012.

I never expected a Godzilla comic series to have such a strong narrative with likable characters and an interesting story; the first two issues set this series up to be something great. However, with too much going at once and a massive, a mostly unexplained time-gap, The Half-Century War #3 leaves the reader wanting more.
