Are you ready for the Dark Knight Rises?  I cannot express in words how excited I am for this movie.  I am predicting that it gives The Avengers a run for its money.  I am expecting it to be THAT good.

Release Date: July 20th, 2012

I am very happy that the villain is going to be Bane.  He was represented as a large, dumb, Neanderthal in earlier Batman movies, which does not fit his description in slightest […besides being large].  Bane is Batman’s ‘smartest and most powerful foe’ so it is time for this villain’s Hollywood redemption to come in full force.  After the unfortunate passing of Heath Ledger (Rest in Peace), I was very curious to see how the series was going to handle the removal of Joker.  I had a full theory that Harley Quinn was going to team up with Joker and wreak havoc across Gotham, along with some other surprises from DC Comics of course.  Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman will have to be an even substitution.

The way that Bane was revealed, in my opinion, was pure genius.  I am not sure how many of you heard how it was done, but it is definitely worth taking note to explain.  This has been my understanding of it (correct me if I am wrong):

A voice recording of a muffled chant was released.  Once the sound was deciphered to be “The Fire Rises“, Twitter started blowing up with people referencing “@thefirerises“.  Once enough people started @-ing the name, this was released.

That chant gives me goosebumps every time.

Can’t wait.
