Attack on Titan (also known as Shingeki no Kyojin), named GameandComic’s Top Anime of 2013, has now made its way onto Netflix instant streaming.  If you have not had an opportunity to check out this new anime, now is the time to do so.

Mild spoilers to follow:

When the remainder of humanity is hiding behind a 3-walled city due to mysterious titan attacks, it is up to Eren, Mikasa, and other members of the Survey Corps to try to find a way to stop them.  The titans are gargantuan creatures that relentlessly attack the city trying to eat the humans.  However, nobody is really sure where the titans came from or why they are attacking.   The Survey Corps is the organization that not only protects the city when titan attacks occur, but they are the only people with enough training to venture beyond the walls due to their expertise with their advanced maneuvering equipment.  Although the titans are shrouded in mystery, it is up to our protagonist, Eren, and his companions to unlock the secret to protect what is left of the human race.

Attack on Titan has one of the highest production values I have seen in a long time, making this anime both exciting and beautiful to watch.  As of now, Attack on Titan is only available in Japanese with English subtitles on Netflix, but this series is surely a must-watch for any anime fan.
