Kingdom Hearts Timeline

One of the most popular problems amongst the Kingdom Hearts franchise results in many gamers having no idea how the order of the series works.  With prequels and sequels releasing out of order and bizarre titles with words like “Re:” and “Final Mix +”, it is no surprise that this series could use an explanation.  This article is an update on one of Game&Comic’s first posts, but will also tie off a lot of loose ends:

After only a few days of waiting, Ubisoft released the reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. We actually knew this was coming, since Ubisoft was basically forced to announce the game’s existence after multiple leaks. Nonetheless, it’s exciting to see the trailer, which you can watch below.

According to IGN, Ubisoft has just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is real. This confirms the rumors that have been swirling around, and it confirms the image that was leaked on Tuesday.

Specifics haven’t been announced, but the official announcement will take place on March 4, when we will likely get a better grasp on the story (and maybe even which consoles, too). Stay tuned for more information on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

According to an article on Kotaku the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series will be titled Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and will deal with pirates.

Kotaku was tipped off by an anonymous source who sent a picture of a poster that shows a white-hooded man fighting a couple of pirates.

Ubisoft already announced that the next Assassin’s Creed game would feature a new character and setting and that it would appear during the next fiscal year.

So is this actually the next Assassin’s Creed game? Who knows. But I’m sure Ubisoft will share more with the world in coming months.

It looks like the states will finally get some of the Kingdom Hearts goodness that’s usually reserved for Japan with the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX for the Playstation 3.

ReMIX contains HD version of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, trophy support, and enhanced cinematic scenes from the Nintendo DS exclusive 358/2 days. Why only the cutscenes? Your guess is as good as mine.

Square Enix hasn’t announced an official release date yet, but expect it come this fall.

For those that may not know, I am a huge Final Fantasy buff.  I am willing to say that Final Fantasy VII is without a doubt my all-time favorite game.  In my opinion, FF games are the perfect emulation of what an role-playing game (RPG) should be.  Imagination, adventure, customization, and an invested story are just some of the things I look forward to with each installment of the series.  Unfortunately, words can not describe the utter frustration I feel towards the series and this is a perfect example why:

Jesus, that was a mouthful. Anyway, the newest DLC for Assassin’s Creed 3 dropped yesterday. It is part one in a three part “What If” story line,  wherein Washington never gives up his power, and becomes the new King of America. It is named Infamy, and the launch trailer makes it look pretty damn interesting.

But are a non-canon story and an intriguing trailer enough to draw your attention throughout all of the to be released packs?

Two weeks ago,  Gearbox released its second DLC for Borderlands 2; Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage. Mr. Torgue is holding a tournament to find the biggest badass on Pandora, and open a new vault, and he wants you to enter the competition! The DLC promised explosions, loot-splosions, and more badassitude than you could handle. What we ended up getting were some extremely lackluster missions with one of the funniest characters I’ve seen in video games.

If you haven’t been excited for the new Grand Theft Auto game, it’s about time you did. Get excited. For the game. Grand Theft Auto. G.. Listen. Watch the trailer. It’s real good. You’ll like it. You’ll want the game. Okay? Okay.

You can now pre-order the game, which appears to be a spring release! I know I’ll be picking up this particular title, will you?
