Checking out ComicsTheory

Zan and Jayna. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Professor Charles Xavier and Cassandra Nova. Psylocke and Captain Britain. Some are good, some are evil, and some hang out with a blue monkey named Gleek. Twins are everywhere in comic books, and it turns out I’ve got one, too. Cooler yet, my twin brother Shaun loves Comicology as much as I do, and he’s hoping to provide a place for a dialogue on and deconstruction of the comics industry with his new project: “ComicsTheory.”

A the start of the blog, I posted about What is the ‘DC New 52’?. A Third Wave of DC New 52 comics was just announced, so I thought it would be good to give an overall listing of each Wave of comics, as well as all of the DC series that are being cut. To reiterate, DC will be keeping its comic reboot to 52 individual series. DC is cancelling and replacing the series that are not selling well, which is why the new replacements are coming in ‘waves’.

You will probably hear Jon and I mention ‘The New 52‘ and many of our reviews/discussions will be talking about New 52 series. I figured it would be a good idea to brief you on what the New 52 actually is.
Thoughts on Comics, Week 1
Posted: May 30, 2012 by Jon Erik Christianson in Comicology - Comic Books, DC ComicsTags: Animal Man, Comics, DC Comics, Earth-2, G&C, Worlds' Finest
To start off G&C’s spectacular debut, I figured I would divulge my comic book pull list to the world. Currently, there are 11 DC titles and 1 Image title. I have sampled titles from other companies several times (the Incredible Hulk, Astonishing X-Men, Supurbia, etc) but nothing else has really stuck.

So, what better way to start off G&C than with a little recap on The Avengers?
