In honor of the upcoming 100th issue of Invincible, the critically acclaimed superhero series by Robert Kirkman, I’m going to read it all for the first time. All of it. Zan and Jayna.  Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.  Professor Charles Xavier and Cassandra Nova.  Psylocke and Captain Britain.  Some are good, some are evil, and some hang out with a blue monkey named Gleek.  Twins are everywhere in comic books, and it turns out I’ve got one, too.  Cooler yet, my twin brother Shaun loves Comicology as much as I do, and he’s hoping to provide a place for a dialogue on and deconstruction of the comics industry with his new project: “ComicsTheory.”

Django Unchained is the newest movie from acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino, arriving in theaters Christmas day. It’s a western set in the deep south before the civil war, starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson, among others. Apparently the movie will now be receiving the comic book treatment, with “Django Unchained” #1 set to launch on December 5th, the first of a five part series. Said Tarantino: “The comic will literally be that very first draft of the script. All that material that didn’t make the movie, all of that will be part of the piece. And I’m really excited about it.” Art for the series will be done by R.M. Guera, and the books will be published by DC comics.  Here’s the trailer for the movie; click below to see the first and third covers of the series by Jim Lee and Massimo Carnavale, respectively.
