Seeing as this is the first manga post on Gamenomics&Comicology, I thought it would be best to give some background on manga with a few staples of greatness in the genre for those looking to take the first step into the world Japanese Comics.

This fall is a big season for video games. August saw the release of Tranformers: Fall of Cybertron, the best rated Transformers video game of all time. One month later, Borderlands 2 came out, and wowed gamers with its improved storyline and in-depth FPS and RPG gameplay elements. And now gamers can enjoy Assassin’s Creed 3 and Halo 4, shortly followed by the release of the Wii U. With all these games (and more) to compete against, standing out from the crowd right now is, at the very least, an incredibly tough challenge to overcome. After playing the demo for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, however, I can confidently say that this is another game that everyone should keep and eye on, even with all the other big name titles sitting on store shelves.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Annual 2012 Cover by IDW

Back when I was in my prime age of about 8 years old, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were my jam.  I used to watch the television show, play with the action figures, and run around with a cardboard Christmas wrapping paper roll pretending it was a bo staff.  Today, about 50% of my nerdy shirts are TMNT related.  Heck, the drinking glasses in my apartment even have ninja turtle characters on them.  I recently decided to crack open a can of nostalgia by reading Teenage Mutant Ninja Annual 2012.

Assassin’s Creed 3 has been out for over a week, and is about to get completely eclipsed by Halo 4, and then Black Ops 2. Sadly I’ve only had a few days to play it. Oh the life of a collage student is truly a tough one when a man can’t spare more than a few days to play video games. I’m sure you’ll weep for me. Anyway, I’m nowhere near far enough through the game to give anything close to a review, but I can go over some of the major changes I’ve noticed thus far, and discuss what makes AC3 different, if only slightly, from its predecessors.

I posted a bit about this game when it was discussed at the E3 conference over the summer, but I am genuinely excited about PlaysStation All-Stars Battle Royale.  With its upcoming release November 20th release date, I have been researching for the full list of playable characters.  Here is the full list:

You’ve finished Borderlands 2, played with the Mechromancer, and claimed Pandora as your personal stomping ground. All the quests are done, and you can finally kick back and relax. That is, unless you haven’t heard the story of Captain Blade’s buried treasure, and experienced Gearbox’s newest DLC for Borderlands 2; Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty. If not, allow me to regale you with this swashbuckling tale.

I have to say, Godzilla: The Half-Century War has surprised me. I never expected a Godzilla comic series to have such a strong narrative with likable characters and an interesting story; the first two issues set this series up to be something great. However, with too much going at once and a massive, a mostly unexplained time-gap, The Half-Century War #3 leaves the reader wanting more.
