The original Sly Cooper video game, developed by Sucker Punch Studios,  was released in September 2002.  12 years later, an animated Sly Cooper movie will be making its way to a big screen near you.  The film is set to release in 2016 and is in development by Sony.

Hey everyone!  As I have said before, I am a huge X-Men movie buff.  Although the movies may not be a totally accurate representation of the comics, I have always felt that they do a great job making superhero movies fun for all.  Enjoy the trailer!  The movie hits theatres July 26th, 2013.

For over 70 years, Aquaman had been lauded by DC Comics as one of their most singularly important character properties alongside icons like Superman and Batman.  Yet for all of DC’s posturing fans had never seemed to frame Aquaman as anything more than a silly, overrated merman who talks to fish.  Marvel’s Hawkeye, with his gaudy purple uniform and yawn-worthy bow-and-arrow gimmick, had suffered a similar stigma throughout the years.  However, 2012’s biggest industry initiatives—DC’s New 52, Marvel NOW, and Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ movie series—have finally turned Aquaman and Hawkeye into exciting, profitable franchises. Enroll in Monsters University

In spectacular fashion, Pixar has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming film Monsters University, which mimics those cheesy college commercials that try and highlight the bright atmosphere of higher education. While the trailer doesn’t show Mike and Sully, it certainly delivers a good laugh (especially for college students). And, even better, the website that’s advertised at the end of the video is real; you can actually go to the Monster’s University website. Unfortunately, admissions are closed until next fall, but you can still navigate around the entire site.

This incredible documentary is a must watch for any indie gaming fan.

Steve McNiven’s Official Poster for NYCC.

The annual New York Comic Con is now less than 22 days away, and I will be there live and in person at the Javits Center for the entire convention weekend.  I will be journaling my adventures for you here on Gamenomics & Comicology, but it’s already the perfect time to start following what has become one of the world’s biggest comic conventions.  Yesterday afternoon, NYCC unveiled its full panel schedule.  In anticipation, let’s take a look at some of the awesome main attractions that have been announced.

‘Dredd 3D,’ Lionsgate Films’ upcoming adaptation of the classic British 2000 AD comic series, looks much truer to the source material than did the 1995 flop ‘Judge Dredd’ starring Sylvester Stallone.  Karl Urban dons the Judge’s helmet this time around, and he’s just one of many reasons you should be pumped for the new film.
