Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage DLC Review
Posted: December 4, 2012 by Connor MacDonald in Gamenomics - Video Games, Microsoft/Xbox, Sony/PlayStationTags: Add-on, Borderlands 2, DLC, Mr. Torgue, XBox 360
Two weeks ago, Gearbox released its second DLC for Borderlands 2; Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage. Mr. Torgue is holding a tournament to find the biggest badass on Pandora, and open a new vault, and he wants you to enter the competition! The DLC promised explosions, loot-splosions, and more badassitude than you could handle. What we ended up getting were some extremely lackluster missions with one of the funniest characters I’ve seen in video games.

My top 5 favorite iOS games
Posted: November 29, 2012 by Joel Kost in Gamenomics - Video Games, Steam, PC, & Indie GamesI really don’t have that much time to play console games during the school year. Even with games like Borderlands 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Halo 4 out on store shelves, I just can’t find the time to really sit down and play a solid hour or two of my favorite video games. That’s where my iPhone come in. Aside from satisfying my addiction to Twitter and Instagram, I use my phone to get a quick gaming fix through out the day. There are thousands (maybe even millions!) of games on the app store, so trying to find some good ones can be challenging.
If you’re like me, and can’t find something worth playing, you’re in luck! These are my top five favorite iOS games that are definitely worth checking out.

If you could not make it to New York Comic Con last month, you missed out on two great comic art shows: the 2nd Annual NYCC Charity Art Auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and DC Entertainment’s “Darkness & Light” exhibition and education tour to benefit relief efforts in the Horn of Africa. However, if you’re in the New England area you may be inclined to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA. Showing now until February 24 is famed comic illustrator and painter Alex Ross’ exhibit, “Heroes & Villains.” Read the rest of this entry »

Assassin’s Creed 3: Review
Posted: November 14, 2012 by Connor MacDonald in Gamenomics - Video Games, Microsoft/Xbox, Sony/PlayStationTags: assassin, Assassin's Creed 3, Connor, Desmond, Microsoft/Xbox, Review, XBox 360
Throughout the Assassin’s Creed series we’ve traveled through different periods in time following the stories of Altair, Ezio, and Desmond as they fight the nefarious Templar order. In the final installment of Desmond’s story, Assassin’s Creed 3, we become Connor, the Native American freedom fighter from the Revolutionary War era. We, the fans, were expecting an epic conclusion to the roller coaster story that we rode throughout the series, waiting for the inevitable bang at the end where we would most likely be left wanting more, but knowing the story of Desmond had reached its end. What we got with Assassin’s Creed 3 instead was a plot line full of twists that went nowhere, unlikable characters, and one of the sorriest excuses for the end of a franchise that I’ve ever seen in gaming.
It’s a big day for video games…and mistakes!
Posted: November 13, 2012 by Joel Kost in Gamenomics - Video GamesTags: Black Ops 2, Call of Duty, CoD, Lego, Lord of the Rings, LOTR, Mass Effect 2
Today is a big day for many gamers: Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and LEGO Lord of the Rings finally hit store shelves. Black Ops 2 has already been receiving fantastic reviews by other gaming sites, and LEGO Lord of the Rings will probably get high scores too.
But that’s not the real news for the day. According to the Game Informer website, both games have been having major shipping issues.
What kind of issues, you ask? Well to start, LEGO’s latest adventure has been shipping demo discs instead of the actual game. Oops! So if you’re planning on picking it up today, check your game before you leave so you can get your money back.
Now for Black Ops 2. So far this seems to have only affected one person, but when a CoD fan put in his disc to download, he ended up with Mass Effect 2! I can understand accidentally shipping a demo disc; mistakes happen. But shipping a game that is three years old AND belongs to a completely different publisher? That’s messed up.
So, if you’re buying either of these games today, make sure you check your discs!
