It looks like the states will finally get some of the Kingdom Hearts goodness that’s usually reserved for Japan with the release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX for the Playstation 3.

ReMIX contains HD version of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, trophy support, and enhanced cinematic scenes from the Nintendo DS exclusive 358/2 days. Why only the cutscenes? Your guess is as good as mine.

Square Enix hasn’t announced an official release date yet, but expect it come this fall.

For those that may not know, I am a huge Final Fantasy buff.  I am willing to say that Final Fantasy VII is without a doubt my all-time favorite game.  In my opinion, FF games are the perfect emulation of what an role-playing game (RPG) should be.  Imagination, adventure, customization, and an invested story are just some of the things I look forward to with each installment of the series.  Unfortunately, words can not describe the utter frustration I feel towards the series and this is a perfect example why:

Jesus, that was a mouthful. Anyway, the newest DLC for Assassin’s Creed 3 dropped yesterday. It is part one in a three part “What If” story line,  wherein Washington never gives up his power, and becomes the new King of America. It is named Infamy, and the launch trailer makes it look pretty damn interesting.

But are a non-canon story and an intriguing trailer enough to draw your attention throughout all of the to be released packs?

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

With the release of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale this past November, gamers have been asking for one thing: more characters.  Well, with a recent announcement of a new DLC, PlayStation gamers are ecstatic to hear that the Battle Royale cast will be expanding.  I blogged earlier about the current character list and this game even made my ‘Best of 2012’ blog.  Keep reading to learn what is in store.

Ubisoft announced earlier this morning that Rayman Legends, the highly anticipated sequel to Rayman Origins, is no longer a Wii U exclusive and will come to both the Xbox 360 and PS3. In addition, the game’s release date was pushed back to early September, nearly seven months later than the original release date of February 26. While this certainly shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody, it’s definitely bad news for Nintendo and it raises a very important issue: will the Wii U ever gain high-quality, third-party exclusives?

Game Informer recently announced its latest cover story which reveals TT Games’ new title, Lego Marvel Super Heroes. This came to a surprise for many gamers, since TT Games already developed two DC Universe Lego titles. As a Marvel fan myself, I was ecstatic to hear the news. I haven’t played a Lego game in years, so maybe this title would push me to play the other ones, like Lego The Lord of the Rings. As I began to think of all the games I’ve missed, I wondered what other franchises could be made into Lego games. I came up with some ideas (most ridiculous) that I believe would make perfect transitions into the Lego world. Check them out, and let us know what you would like to see Lego-fied.

Thbest of 2012

Now that we are officially in 2013, and to keep up with our ‘Best of 2012’ blogs, I wanted to take a look back at the video games and comic books that made 2012 so awesome.  In 2012, we saw some great video games, as well as some really big comic book events.  The Wii U was released, DC’s New 52 is now in full force, and Marvel NOW! has continued to throw out some really big titles.  Here is my breakdown of the ‘Best of 2012’:

During today’s Nintendo Direct (or Pokemon Direct, as it has been called) Pokemon versions X and Y were announced along with a trailer, release date, and three all new starter Pokemon. Pokemon X and Y will hit store shelves worldwide on October 13 for the 3DS, making these the first 3D entries in the main series (and also the first games that aren’t named after a color).
